The Journey Between Places
You are reminded that travel is not only about where you arrive.
Travel is often measured by destinations.
The places you visit.
The food you try.
The people you meet.
But there is another part of travel that is often overlooked.
The journey itself.
The hours spent on a bus.
The movement of a train.
The quiet moments on a plane.
The slow rhythm of a boat.
These are not just gaps between destinations.
They are part of the experience.
And often, they are where the most unexpected moments happen.
When you are in transit, something shifts.
You are no longer tied to a place.
Not quite where you started.
Not yet where you are going.
You are in between.
And in that space, there is clarity.
There is time to think.
Time to reflect.
Time to simply observe without distraction.
Outside the window, the world moves differently.
Landscapes change.
Cities fade into countryside.
Mountains appear.
Coastlines open up.
If you slow down enough to notice, there is a lot to take in.
But it is easy to miss.
It is easy to treat travel as something to get through.
To focus only on arrival.
To count down the hours until you reach the next place.
But when you do that, you lose something.
Because the journey is not separate from the experience.
It is the experience.
These are the moments where your thoughts settle.
Where ideas form.
Where you process everything you have seen so far.
Sometimes, these are the moments that stay with you the longest.
A quiet bus ride.
A conversation with a stranger.
A view you did not expect.
You are surrounded by people, all heading somewhere different.
Each with their own story.
Their own reason for moving.
And for a short time, your paths cross.
There is something meaningful in that.
The journey reminds you that travel is not only about where you arrive.
It is about how you move.
How you experience the in-between.
How present you allow yourself to be.
Because when you start to embrace that, something changes.
You stop rushing.
You start noticing.
And you realise that some of the most important parts of travel happen when you are simply
on your way.
